What Is MCT Oil?

MCT oil is a concentrated form of particular fatty acids found in coconut oil. MCT means: ‘medium-chain triglycerides,’ which are easier to digest than long-chain triglycerides (found in vegetable oils, etc.). As a result, MCTs are metabolized quickly and provide a source of fuel for energy production and support weight loss.

An MCT-oil powder or liquid supplement can help improve cognitive function, increase energy levels, and promote weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and exercise program.

Can MCT Oil Help with Weight Loss?

MCT oil contains medium-chain triglycerides, which are the most easily digested and utilized form of fat. This is why they are often used among those with Crohn’s Disease, pancreatitis, and irritable bowel syndrome.

MCTs are converted in the liver into ketones, which are then used by the body as a readily available source of energy.

MCT oil is not only good for weight loss, but it is also good for cognitive health and heart health.

MCT oils can be helpful with weight loss goals, but only when taken as part of a low-carbohydrate diet, such as a ketogenic diet or intermittent fasting diet.
